Honey and soy pork recipe

Recipe for honey and soy pork – By Chef Regan

Ingredients for marinating the pork

300g pork

15g corn starch

1 tablespoon light soy sauce

1/4 teaspoon baking powder (for extra crunch)

1/2 tablespoon vinegar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method

In a bowl, marinate the pork with all the above spices and let it sit for 2 hours in the refrigerator.

After two hours, deep fry them for the first time until halfway done. Then deep fry it a second time until golden brown and crispy. ( Be sure to deep fry the pork twice). Pork is very tender; be careful not to overcook it.

Ingredients for the sauce

2 tablespoons cooking oil

3 cloves garlic, diced finely

4g ginger cut into thin strips

1/2 cup water

1 tablespoon light soy sauce

1/2 tablespoon honey

1/3 teaspoon salt

In a hot pan, add cooking oil and heat it for like 3 seconds, then add the ginger. Toss it around for a couple of seconds, then add the garlic. When you can get the fragrance of the garlic and ginger (don’t brown them), add the water and take down the heat to medium-high. Add the soy sauce, honey, and salt, and then mix everything well. Let the sauce simmer down slowly until it’s thick. Add the pork, then toss it around to coat well.

Garnish with chives and coriander.

Enjoy ☺️
